Graphic Design Software

The two major software titles in the graphic design market today, are Fireworks and Photoshop. Macromedia makes Fireworks, and Adobe makes Photoshop. But since Adobe has purchased Macromedia, they are both now owned by Adobe :)

Macromedia Fireworks

Firework's has got to be the best graphic design software in the world, for the average beginner. With its "What You See is What You Get" interface, designing splendid graphics has never been easier. You can download a trial and/or buy the full version at Adobe.

Adobe Photoshop

Made for the more sophisticated graphic designer in mind, but has the ability to do so much more then Fireworks can. If you really want the best graphic design software out their today, then you need Photoshop.

If you have trouble learning it, you might want to consider taking a class or reading a tutorial online.

Plug-ins

Almost just as important as the software itself, plug-ins can provide you with amazing detailed special effects, which can be applied to other text or images instantly, on the fly.

Most graphic design software out there comes with built in plug-ins, textures and effects, but usually they are not very creative. Great plug-in software for graphic design software will dramatically change that, and give you high grade tools that are used by professionals!
