My desktop computer has been taken over by a message reading "Warning Dangerous spyware Please check up the computer with a special software. Thank you". I ran Norton Internet Security check, but found only 1 harmful cookie. How can I remove this virus?

Answer

Norton and other programs like Norton are really a waste of money. The best in my opinion is AVG, which has a free version available at http://free.avg.com which is just as good as their paid for one, it just doesn't have a few features like auto scheduler and stuff like that. I recommend you get AVG and then run the scan again and remove the virus because most likely it will show up in AVG.

Also, cookies are not harmful, it is just that they are technically considered spyware because websites use them to spy on the users browsing habits. Most are harmless though.
