I just copied my hard drive to a new one, and some files don't load or are missing or corrupted, and some of my desktop icons will change to a dead link. How can I fix this?

Answer
It seems that the program that you used to copy all the files over to the other hard drive, messed up, or you didn't completely format and partition the new drive that you wanted to copy everything to. If you did partition and format it, then most likely the Acronis and Norton software is messing up.
Now keep in mind, to do this, you need to have both drives hooked up to the same IDE cable, and one needs to be set as master and the other as slave on the back with the jumpers. You should make the new drive the master, so this way when you are done you won't have to change it.
If that still doesn't work, you should search Google for more free hard drive cloning programs and try them. One has to work, right!
I actually recommend Acronis True Image on my site because I have used them in the past and they worked great. I do hear sometimes though people complain about them not working right.
I recommend you try this free hard drive cloning program called PCI clone max (search for it on Google). All you need to do is put in a floppy disk, double click to open the program, and follow the steps so that it creates a startup disk on that floppy.
